Examples of what you will find on Boost Biz

Here are two examples of the type of information you will find on Boost Biz Information Services. Return often to find new tools to boost your business.
Call Reluctance Checklist
How to Get You and Your Downline Over It!
Call reluctance is a term used in sales and in network marketing to describe when a
salesperson or a network marketer hesitates or procrastinates making calls to their
prospects. To help you and your distributors in your downline get past this you need to
figure out what causes this "reluctance."
The dictionary definition of reluctance is: unwillingness, offering resistance or opposing.
It’s like this — as network marketers, we know calls have to be made in order to build
our business but there is often unwillingness or resistance to making the calls . So
instead of making calls people will bury themselves in a guilt ridden corner and mentally
beat themselves up.
Sound familiar?
So just what might cause a person to be unwilling to make calls? I've written a list of
items that "cause" a person to be unwilling, resistant or opposed to making the calls.
This will be a good checklist to help a person in your downline find out why
they're not being successful.
It’s written from that perspective. . .however. . .if you'd like a nice jolt of reality, hand this
list to someone in your downline and ask them to check and make sure you do all these
things too.
them what it is.
Have they decided exactly what they want to achieve with their business? Askthem what it is.
2. Have they written a plan of how to achieve it? Ask them if you can see it.
3. Are they working that plan? Ask them to show you where they currently are on
the plan.
5. Do they have a lead source? Ask them to show it to you.
6. Do they know how to get customers? Ask them to get one while you watch.
7. Do they know how to service customers? Ask them to show you how they go
8. Do they know how to get distributors? Ask them to show you how they go about
getting
9. Do they know how to train distributors to go and get customers? Ask them to
introduce you to someone they have trained and then ask that person to
demonstrate getting a customer.
10. Do they know how to train distributors to go and get distributors? Ask them to
train one while you watch, or introduce you to someone they have trained and
then ask that person to demonstrate how they get a distributor.
Whatever a person can’t show you
is the reason for their Call Reluctance
I’ll be blunt with you — "afraid of rejection" is garbage.
Here’s proof — when anyone says that this is the reason for their call reluctance you
can easily call their bluff. Simply set a tape recorder on a table and ask them,
"Invite me to come to your business meeting." They can't do it. Why? It's not fear of
rejection... tape recorders don't reject you.
Being afraid of rejection, out of one’s comfort zone, call reluctance, and any other fancy
phrase a person can come up with is only a mask to cover up what they don't know how
to do. I don't care if the person has been in sales for 20 years — if they don't make
calls, it's because there is something about the business they don't know how to do.
Fear, or specifically fear of rejection, and/or call reluctance is the same animal — not
being able to predict an outcome. That's the basis of all fear. The person just simply
can't predict what will happen if they do something. If you go bungee jumping — it's the
inability to predict the outcome that causes fear.
When you defuse bombs (like I did in my past profession with the Navy) — it's the
inability to predict the outcome that causes fear.
So don't buy your downline's excuses — run your distributors through the check
sheet above and train them on whatever they can't do.
Don't you buy your own excuses either. The solution is simple — get trained, get your
distributors trained and start making those calls. You business will grow by leaps and bounds when you do.

Small Decisions

The little things you do doesn't seem to matter much. Or do they? One little decision repeated over time could decide if you are a success or falure.

When I began my jewelry and Prepaid Legal businesses I had to make cold calls. In other words I call people that I don't know and that don't know me. I ask for an appointment to show them my jewelry or how I can help them with their business and employees. This is sooo hard for me to do! And it is uncomfortable for the person I am calling. This is one way to get appointments.

As I became more comfortable with cold calls they became eaiser. Each day I made my calls. I mostly got no's. It would be so despairing. But, each day I made a decision to make at least one hard cold call. One small decision each day. I repeated that decision every day for weeks.

Now, it's not as hard to call. I get a few more yes's and a few less no's. I get more appointments. I sell more jewelry and get more memberships. Why, because I made a small decision everyday over time.

You have the right to choose.

Each one of us have the God given right to choose. We make choices everyday. It could be what time to wake up in the morning, what to eat at a meal, what to wear to work or school, what we do in a day.... These do not sound like big chooses. Think of them individually. The time you choose to wake up in the morning. If you choose to wake up early you can get more accomplished, start the morning relaxed, eat a nutrious breakfast or get to work on time relaxed and ready to go. But, what if you decide to sleep an extra thirty minutes. You will be rushed to work. Instead of a nutrious breakfast you choose a "meal" from your local convience store of a sweet roll and Coke. You are rushing to work - more likely to be in a wreck. When you get to work you are late.
All this stress...Why? Because you made a choice. What are your concequences? You will gain weight, at a higher risk of having a wreck, get a speeding ticket, loose your job. All this because of one choice that took an instant to make.

In an article by Thomas S. Monson, (Thomas S. Monson, “The 3 R’s of Free Agency,” New Era, Apr 1973, 4), he explains the 3 R's of Free Agency. They are the right of choice, the responsibility of choice and the results of choice.

You have the right to choose what direction you go in your live. God can't make you do anything. No one can make you do anything - it has to be your choose. William C. Gregg illustrated this beautifully in the words of his poem:

“Know this, that every soul is free
To choose his life and what he’ll be,
For this eternal truth is given
That God will force no man to heav’n.

“He’ll call, persuade, direct aright,
And bless with wisdom, love, and light,
In nameless ways be good and kind,
But never force the human mind.”
(Hymns, No. 90.)

Second is your responsibilty to choose. The world says: “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.” “It’s the popular thing to do.” “Just this once won’t matter.”
You can't be neutral! You have to decide.

The results of your choose will decide the life you have. Will it be a successful live or unsuccessful full of regrets, "iwishiwould'vecould've".

Each choose you make will give you success or failure.

Be the answer to a miracle.

I wanted to add to the last post. There is a line in the movie Bruce Almighty that I really think goes along with Be the answer to a prayer. God (Morgan Freeman) is leaving Bruce (Jim Carrey)to solve things on his own. He says, "You want a miracle? Be the miracle."

How can you be the miracle? By the small choices you make everyday!

Be an answer to a prayer.

Everyday there are individuals praying for a miracle. This might have been you at one time. The prayer could be for food, shelter, money, Christmas presents for your children or something as simple as having a friend. Whatever the prayer there is a need.

You can be the answer to someone's prayer! Look around you. Look at your neighbors, friends, family, coworkers or a stranger. Do you see a need? Be an answer to a prayer.
